I had issues with a different brand where my printer heads would dry up and not print well after not using it for a few weeks.Īwfully Pleased Currently using this printer as a replacement of our HL-L8350CDW (please see post-script below.Īwfully pleased with the quality construction - an understatement, and its flawless performance, just like we had been with the 8350CDW previously. I have had the printer a few months now and I look forward to seeing how it lasts and how long the cartridges hold out.
But I didn't buy it for that and had read that was an issue with Laser printers anyhow. I don't recommend trying to print photos with it as it just doesn't do well with photos. Overall it's print quality is quite good for both color and b&w printing. It took an egregious amount of time to get it connected. I also don't care for the fact that it doesn't have a regular screen and keyboard to type stuff in like your wifi password.

I don't know if it's jut my inexperience with the brand that I'm not sure about how to use it properly. I find this frustrating at times but I'm glad I've found this fix. It also goes to sleep and then you have to go and manually turn it on and off otherwise it won't "wake up" to print your stuff. It seems to take quite some time for it to send info from my laptop to the printer. We have pretty good wifi in our house but with this printer being wifi only, no ethernet cords you are reliant on that. The reason I am not giving this 5 stars is as follows, it is slow to start printing. In all honesty, I would probably just recommend going to Brother's site and just downloading the software instead of bothering with the disc. I did find it a bit more challenging to set up than other printers I have had in the past.

Great print job Overall I really like this printer, I bought this primarily for all the pdf pattern printing I do and homeschool printing also. I would advise Brother to correct the link so that this negative would go away. This would probably be avoidable if I had disc drives in them. The only negative I have again is the initial setup for my laptops. I was really pleased with the printer overall. It is fast, the ink is clean, and the setup of the machine is very easy. I would definitely recommend this printer. Definitely glad I made the switch to this printer for my home office. The first print job was slow but since then it has been really good. Other than the initial setup, this is a great product.

There was also a driver update that had issues on each of the Windows laptops but everything still completed. You have to really play around and stumble across the correct link to setup the printer. The link that is given does not take you to the download. The laptops do not have disc drives so the instructions refer to a website to download the software. The issue came when installing the software on my windows laptops. Setting up the ink cartridges and unpacking it was really easy. One issue I had with the printer was the instructions. This will save me money on purchasing paper as well as help save some trees. I never realized how much I missed this feature until I was without it. I must admit that I went a little cheap on the printer and left off some options that I now know are a MUST have.My favorite feature about the printer is the double printing feature. I have a home office with several laptops remotely connected to the now decommissioned printer. Well this printer rings the bell on both of those issues. The biggest need I had from a new printer was ink that lasted more than a month and the ability to print on two sides.
